BigSpoon was created for true foodies, those who love to try new dishes and restaurants. BigSpoon helps you order your favorite dishes from different places in one order. No more adjusting for groups when ordering, everyone gets what they want.

Problem

The traditional food ordering apps have a major issue, not allowing users to order from multiple places in one order. This results in someone adjusting when deciding where to order from.

Solution

BigSpoon created a platform to allow users to order from different places in one order. Simplifying the process of finding various restaurant options and providing benefits such as offers, memberships and referrals.

Competitive analysis was conducted to identify competitor's strengths and weaknesses to inform BigSpoon's features and information structure.

After conducting user interviews, all the participants responses were synthesized to identity themes, opportunities, and features that BigSpoon could focus and improve upon.

A persona was built based on the data collected to help drive decision making and keep the product focused on solving users pain points, frustrations, and goals.

Cooking up a better experience

To kick-off the design process, quick sketches helped me get ideas on paper to establish which elements were necessary for each screen. Digital wireframes were then created for initial testing.

The primary user flow is the process of ordering food. BigSpoon's simple information structure makes it easy to navigate and move through tasks.

Rough sketches were done to get my initial thoughts on paper and brainstorm new ideas for specific UI elements.

Low-Fidelity Wireframes

Using the feedback and insights gained from research, analysis and sketching, low-fidelity wireframes were created to begin user testing.

Inspiration was drawn from fast food restaurants with a focus on being vibrant and fun while being simple. The UI design reflects the user's desire to have a clutter free, curated look and feel.
